Vertical garden

The vertical garden at the back of our hotel, is the most tangible part of our sustainable efforts. Our green showpiece is not only a feast for the eyes but also has a positive effect on the environment. The plants absorb CO2, have a cooling effect and enrich the environment with clean air. Our way of bringing a piece of green back to the city centre. 

Energy efficiency

Transforming a historic building into an eco-friendly, high-end hotel and restaurant has been quite a challenge, but those who have taken on this project with heart and soul have proven it to be a possible mission!

The building has been transformed with energy efficiency as the main focus. The building has been completely upgraded, including new roof structures, double window frames and triple-glazed windows where possible. Both the hotel and restaurant are equipped with a heat recovery system to further improve the energy efficiency of the building. We are fully electric (gas-free) and even generate some of our own electricity through the solar panels on the roof!

Sustainable suppliers

For us, it's all about choices that make impact. We work with suppliers who not only embrace sustainability, but make it an art - each with their own unique story.

Finding these partners is sometimes a challenge, but that is precisely what makes it so valuable. Occasionally, we invite our guests to think along with us to achieve the best result together. Is there no sustainable option? Then you simply won't find it in our hotel. In your room, you will come across glassware from Rebottled, bath bombs from Lush, and toilet paper from The Good Roll. All brands with a mission and an inspiring story.

Green supply

Laundry is the biggest stream of supply in our hotel, so it is important that its removal and return does not unnecessarily consume energy or contribute to pollution. That's why we work with City Hub. They take a smart approach to transport with efficient and clean provisioning for city centres. Their electric vehicles and cargo bikes, thanks to innovative software, ensure seamless and sustainable delivery. No traffic jams, no emissions, just a cleaner city.

Conscious Choices

With us, many sustainable choices have already been made for you, but we like to encourage you to make conscious choices yourself. During a multipe days stay, you can hang up the ‘Hotel for trees’ card and then we won't change the towels and bedding - that's how we help reduce water waste together. Moreover, we report your conscious choice to Hotels for Trees, where for every room that chooses to have less cleaning, a tree is planted. Your small gesture, big impact.
